Hello my friends, Comrade Rakshasa will be GMing his first RP on this board sometime soon. We're not sure when, but I'd like to clarify some things before we begin. 1: This RP will be hard-sci-fi. That means no ponies, catgirls or other human-hybrids, magic, or anything impossibly weird. Also, no alternate universes, such as Markas Trenchlore's "Lightverse" or anything from crossover universes. If you wish to do a non-human, you may use a robot or make your own original, realistic alien species. 2: 3-4 players total. This is including myself, so we have three slots open, and at least two of them need to be filled in order for us to start. *3: This will not be a combat-oriented RP. This may be mostly social or problem-solving. * (citation needed)4: Be gentle. This is Rakshasa's first time-- not just GMing, but RPing in general. Sure, he's done D&D (with yours truly, I might add), but he has no experience with this kind of RP. Let's show him how it's done, shall we? Leave your character's information in this thread if you are interested, as demonstrated with my character: Side note: If you're wondering why Rakshasa's GMing the first time he RPs, it's because he says he's better at "world-building" (which he is), and that he would feel more comfortable like this.

Hello, everyone. Rakshasa here.
First off, it's great to have you all in this RP. You're providing a longtime storyteller with a chance to give you a story like no other in a world unlike anything you've ever seen. Once again, thank you, all, and without further adieu, onto the announcement:
The year is 5052. War has not changed, but mankind has.
Imagine international politics as it is today. Nations, corporations, religions, political parties, every kind of organization under the sun duking it out in one grand mass of emergent brilliance. Now set it in the dead of space three thousand years in the future.
Three thousand years of drifting in the darkness have left the human race slightly worse for wear.
This is no dark fantasy: humanity is thriving more brightly than ever. Mankind is spread across the entirety of fifteen Fleets - assemblies of generation ships designed to house the people of Earth for the indefinite future - and the series of planets they choose to settle along their journey to find permanent home. These thousands of ships play the same role as stage to all the laughter, tears, blood, and victory that make the human race worth saving.
But that's not the whole story.
Nanites-a superweapon of the last world war- have achieved singularity and have learned space travel, but their duty remains the same: consume everything. Humanity tried to nuke them out of existence, but there are too many. The only choice is to run. On the way, one finds that there are two kinds of people: those who spend their lives in fear of the nanites... ...and those who look boldly to the stars ahead and know that somehow, someday, they will find a place to call home.
Which of these paths you choose is up to you. The setting is virtually infinite: all of the Milky Way galaxy is theoretically within the setting, as long as it's within reason. You want a lightsaber duel on a fiery hell-world? Set it on Jupiter's fiery moon, Io. Want to have a cup of tea with the queen of the galaxy? Work your way through the ranks and make it so that the queen will want to have tea with you. As long as you back your decisions with hard science, you can do whatever the hell strikes your fancy.
This concludes the briefing. Plot details will follow soon.
As we say in my country,
Namaste.

Name: Dana "Black Panther" Wilson Race: Catgirl* Sex: F (depending on your opinion, that F could stand for Female or for Futa :3) Age: 28 Earth Years Appearance (because "coloring" is RACIS, YO): Caramel skin, hazel eyes, black hair kept back in a ponytail. Generally wearing goggles and a mask covering the mouth, much like a muzzle. Occupation: Bounty Hunter Home: Unknown Traits: Cold, sarcastic, logical. Equipment: 3D Maneuver Gear (Anti Human Forces Model)**, twin SMGs (Mac 3000, Laser Edition. Can use solar recharger batteries or standard laser energy batteries. Magnetic boots with polarity reversers (used for both attaching and propelling from metallic surfaces.
*A cat girl is a human with modified DNA that gives them characteristics not unlike a cat, such as cat ears, a cat tail, and the reflexes of a cat... though it also comes with the fear of rivers, lakes and other bodies of water, a fear of dogs, a like for belly rubs, and an intense desire for catnip. Not real drugs, ACTUAL CATNIP. Generally female in appearance, but actually hermaphrodites, can be modified for this universe if that is too strange.
** 3D Maneuver Gear - Pretty much the same as in the show/manga Attack on Titan, but I believe the design to be plausible and it does fit with a cat (the zipping around and being majestic as fuck and stuff), so I figure the design could exist in this universe too. The design I mentioned is... well, it's from the manga. And if you dislike spoilers, all it really changes from the original design is that most of the equipment is on the shoulders and not the hips. The clamp thingies shoot from the guns held in the hands.
It should be noted that for this universe, the harness also acts as a sort of strengthener from falls and impacts.
